Agriculture for Life is an Alberta-based charitable organization that aims to develop a greater understanding and appreciation for agriculture. It is one of nine provincial organizations that, together, are “Ag in the Classroom” (AITC), Canada’s leading provider of agricultural educational programs, teacher professional development, and classroom resources offered at all grade levels. The McCain Foundation has funded the delivery of Ag for Life’s “Spuds in Tubs”, a program that teaches young children science by growing potatoes in classrooms throughout the province. The Foundation has also helped fund a “Know Your Food” mobile education trailer that puts agricultural education activities on the road to schools and community events.
