United for Literacy (formerly Frontier College) has been delivering summer literacy and math camps to children across Canada since 2005. In New Brunswick, United for Literacy partners with First Nations communities to deliver programs to those most in need. Educational leaders, family members, and elders from First Nations communities all participate in bringing camp to kids. Indigenous post-secondary students provide leadership in after-school programs. The McCain Foundation has provided support for United for Literacy’s First Nations summer and after-school programming since 2015.
