Shelter Movers is an emergency team of volunteers who come to the aid of women and children fleeing from abuse. With referrals from police, women’s shelters, and social service agencies, the Shelter Movers team responds quickly, sometimes in the middle of night, to move families and their belongings to safety. With support from The McCain Foundation, Shelter Movers opened their first location serving rural communities in Nova Scotia.
